With the launch of LunarNYC, The organization known as Lunar New Year Celebration™ (LunarNYC), Jiang Yu, Founder of LunarNYC, looks to unite people who have a love for Asian Culture. Jiang Yu, and the team at LunarNYC have a mission to create, develop and execute a uniting experience for everyone who loves the variety of heritages and cultures within the Asian community. Moreover, the holistic goals of LunarNYC, is to unite all Asian organizations & people who love the culture across the world, while focusing on creating a viable learning community for kids 5-25 helping them achieve their goals. |
Founder Jiang Yu states that:
“As the founder of Lunar New Year Celebration™ (LunarNYC), I have dedicated my life to uniting all Asians and those who love our culture around the world under one Global Brand. From a dream, my mission is aimed at empowering Youth while promoting Diversity, Love, Unity, Peace and Prosperity. As unconventional and unlikely my journey has been; from humble beginnings as a ‘sweatshop baby’ to eventually becoming an entrepreneur, I believe a strong work ethic and an appreciation to ‘Pay it Forward’ is key to leaving a legacy for generations to come.”
With strategic pieces in place, both in the business sector and in the community, LunarNYC plans to expand rapidly in 2015 by launching numerous events. On this positive note, LunarNYC would like to introduce one of the Board Members.
Bill Chan, joins LunarNYC Board as a Director of Sports. In 2001, he was the founder and President of U.S. Asian Basketball. Under the guidance of Bill Chan, over 140 of the U.S. Asian Basketball members made their high school teams. Additionally, 25 of those players have played collegiate basketball.
LunarNYC plans to announce additional Board Members and looks toward the launching their various programs in 2015. For more information on the global movement and on how to get involved please visit www.LunarNYC.org.

About Jiang Yu
Yu is a self taught and private self-investor, his passion for international business has helped him develop key, strategic and valuable relationships throughout the world. Previously, Mr. Yu worked as an analyst part of the Corporate & Investment Banking Division at a Premier Wall St. Investment Bank in New York.
Yu continued his studies at Columbia University & New York University. He holds a BA in Psychology from City College of New York and has taken specialty courses in various New York City Colleges. He often helps mentor college students and new graduates. Aside from being a real estate enthusiast, active Philanthropist, Mr. Yu spends most of his time with his family and resides in Manhattan, New York City. He is responsible for all of LunarNYC’s executive decisions, executive level talks and the growth into a Global Brand for Asians across the world.
艱辛移民路 成功後回饋華裔社區
余江銘熱愛LunarNYC籃球項目,是因為他自幼喜愛籃球,是學校籃球隊的成員,然而在他小時候由於家庭條件不好,他無法參加花費昂貴的全國錦標賽,他如今成為華爾街成功企業家,希望可以回饋,希望幫助到跟他當年一樣的孩子們圓夢。
余江銘於1980年出生在台山農村,2歲的時候跟隨父母、兩個姐姐來到美國。一家人居住在上西城一處簡陋的公寓內,包括他的祖母以及後來出生的弟弟,一家七口人擠在一個三房一廳的分割公寓內(tenement building)。父親是木工,母親是衣廠的縫紉女工,在他3、4歲的時候,由於家庭無法負擔看護,他的母親就帶著她去衣廠上班。與其他女工的孩子們一起,被媽媽們放在衣廠的巨大紙箱內,小孩們在那裏玩耍,這也是余江銘稱自己為“衣廠子弟(sweatshop baby)”的原因。
余江銘從14歲開始在校園參加了學生工作實習項目,可以在學校幫助老師做些工作,賺取一些零花錢緩解家庭的困難,自那時起就沒有停止工作,每年暑假都參加實習項目,16歲的時候在一家法國餐館打工直到18歲,他回憶到,因為我的個子很高,別人都以為我20歲,所以才允許我工作。
19歲時,余江銘同時兼職三份工作,兩年後進入曼哈頓社區大學(BMCC)全職讀書,並且有一份全職工作。後來余江銘在紐約市立大學、哥倫比亞大學完成學業,一路艱辛走來,余江銘在華爾街投資銀行找到一份工作,自此進入金融界,如今已經創辦自己的公司Financial Ventures Group,成為百萬富翁。

余江銘成立LunarNYC的初衷是支持亞裔的文化,他在默默進行著推廣工作,他的計劃是將農曆新年遊行搬到曼哈頓第五大道這個國際大舞台上。他表示,在紐約的亞裔有130萬,我們的力量是很強大的,但是我們的聲音很小,農曆年是人類歷史上最盛大、最久遠的節慶之一,我們應該把它組織起來,像Macy’s的遊行一樣,成為一個讓全世界了解中國文化的機會。諮詢可致信info@LunarNYC.org。
